The Goal
The primary goal of our hygiene workshops is to educate young girls in Africa. In many regions, girls, women, and widows are oppressed because of their gender. Through our work, we aim to empower women and strengthen their self-esteem. The workshops cover topics such as prevention, sexually transmitted diseases, hygiene, self-worth, self-efficacy, communication, and resource-oriented work.
Workshops Across Uganda
Making Sanitary Pads
Many girls have no access to sanitary pads and have to use improvised materials, which makes school and daily life difficult. Workshops on making reusable pads allow them to participate safely in everyday life and education.
Basics of the Menstrual Cycle
Girls and women often lack basic knowledge about the menstrual cycle, which can lead to insecurity and stigmatization. Education about the cycle promotes self-confidence, reduces taboos, and enables better health care.
Cycle Beads
Menstrual cycle beads in different colors make the cycle visible and understandable. They help girls understand their own cycle and make it easier to plan daily life and participate in school and everyday activities.
Food Distribution
During the workshops, participants are provided with meals.
