Refuge and Opportunity

at the House of Hope

The House of Hope is our refuge center for women and girls in the green and fertile region of Fort Portal, Uganda. It welcomes women seeking protection from abuse, prostitution, and forced marriage, and also provides space for single mothers and orphans, who can stay temporarily and participate in various programs.

At the House of Hope, we conduct hygiene workshops as well as training in practical skills that open up new and sustainable income opportunities for women. On the spacious grounds, we continuously expand our services: under professional guidance, women learn food cultivation, sewing, baking, jewelry making, and much more — all with the goal of enabling them to lead independent and self-determined lives.

For a Life in Dignity and Self-Determination

A special focus is on preventing early child marriages and poverty-driven prostitution, which remain significant social issues in Uganda. Through education, support, and practical assistance, we aim to empower women and girls to find their own path toward a life of dignity and security.

Ohana Guesthouse

Auf dem Projektgelände bietet das Ohana Guesthouse VoluntärInnen, PraktikantInnen und Interessierten ein Zuhause, in dem sie den Alltag der Projekte hautnah miterleben können.
Das separate Haus ist komfortabel eingerichtet und ermöglicht den Aufenthalt in einem gemeinschaftlichen Umfeld, das Austausch, Zusammenhalt und gegenseitige Unterstützung fördert.Ein zentraler Gemeinschaftstreffpunkt lädt dazu ein, miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen, gemeinsame Aktivitäten zu gestalten und als Gruppe zusammenzuwachsen.

Hier können unsere Gäste Teil des Projektalltags werden, Erfahrungen sammeln, aktiv mitarbeiten und das Leben auf dem Gelände aus nächster Nähe kennenlernen.
