Food Cultivation

With our agricultural projects, we aim to open up new perspectives for people in difficult life situations. Through practical training, working together, and access to sustainable cultivation methods, we promote self-sufficiency, independence, and confidence in one’s own abilities.

Our Food Garden not only provides for the on-site team but also serves as a training center. Here, single mothers and women affected by poverty have the opportunity to receive training in sustainable vegetable cultivation — with the goal of creating long-term income opportunities and achieving food security.

Part of the harvest is sold at the local market. The proceeds go directly into maintaining the garden, compensating the staff, and supporting further educational and empowerment initiatives within the Mana Foundation. In this way, a project is created that has both economic and social impact — true to the principle of genuine help for self-help.

Poultry Rearing

Unsere Anlage umfasst zwei große Hühnerställe, in denen jeweils rund 500 Hühner leben. Der Erlös aus der Produktion dient dazu, unsere MitarbeiterInnen zu entlohnen und laufende Kosten wie für Strom und Wasser zu decken.

Poultry farming is a dynamic process with its challenges, such as fluctuations in feed prices or the loss of individual animals. Through continuous adjustments and efficient management, we ensure stable production and long-term project success.

Darüber hinaus erfüllt die Farm eine wichtige Bildungsfunktion: Sie dient als Ausbildungsfarm für junge Menschen, die ein Volontariat absolvieren möchten. Hier erhalten sie praxisnahes Wissen über Haltung, Fütterung und Marketing von Poultry-Produkten – Fähigkeiten, die sie direkt in die Praxis umsetzen können.

In this way, our poultry farm combines economic sustainability with practical training, hands-on experience, and long-term future opportunities.

Besonders wertvoll ist die Zusammenarbeit mit externen Partnerinnen: Studierende und junge Menschen erhalten die Möglichkeit, praxisnah alles über Hühnerhaltung zu lernen. So werden nicht nur Wissen und Fertigkeiten vermittelt, sondern auch Chancen für persönliche Entwicklung und Empowerment geschaffen.
